Born in 1988 in Bremen, Lara Packheiser studied Fashion Design at Academy JAK Hamburg. (2008-2012) At the beginning she received the scholarship for highly skilled artists by Ingrid- Albert-Kunz Foundation Hamburg.

By creating paper art Lara Packheiser opens up “new worlds“.

The old room changes into a “fantastic world“.

During her studies she was captivated by surrealism. Gain creativity by depths of the unconscious, dreams and hallucination without all rational powers.

The unconscious composes room for growing fantasies and bizarre existences.

With her “paper worlds“ she offers opportunities to escape reality.

The conception is similar to a collage or a puzzle. Chance decides on position and appearance. Her work possesses high aesthetics supported by three- dimensional domain and shadow effects.
These “worlds“ resemble virtual dream realities.

“The dream guides us to our inner and the fiction leads us outwards.“

PERSONAL STATEMENT

Thoughts of astonishing people about art forced me to draw every day.

To work with my feelings opened the possibility to express myself. Ungratefulness was changed into inspiration.

During the last years I discovered my fascination for avant-garde especially surrealism and the creating of collages.

The great work of Salvador Dalí, Luis Buñuel and Sigmund Freud`s

„DREAM PSYCHOLOGY“ and „PSYCHOANALYSIS“ influenced my development, point of view and my work. Art consists on a variety of areas.

Every single part shows only a glimpse of what is possible.

On my way of exploration I used every single minute to improve. Inspired by life, love, people, nature, movement, music, lyrics, poetry

it has always been my intention to reach peoples emotions whether it is a painting, installation, artwork or set.

I am often fascinated by the absurdity and differentness of things and people.

What runs through these minds? What is their story? People take things in so many different ways, and that`s why it is often so hard to understand.

What a great gift when a feeling or atmosphere that attends me during these episodes of a painting or sketch reaches the beholder.
